Safari with a personal touch…..Charles Mpanda
Charles Philip Mpanda, the founder of Tanganyika Ancient Routes Ltd was born and raised in the Ngorongoro Conservation area . His father was working as a minister in the Evangelical Lutheran Church.
Charles was educated in the Ngorongoro area just about 34 km from the Ngorongoro Crater Rim. After elementary school, Charles went for higher education before joining the tour guide course in the town of Arusha.
After having finished his education Charles worked three years for the Coca-Cola company as a salesman. After that he worked for Medicines sans Frontiers (Doctors without borders) for one and a half year as a sanitation officer.
Charles started to practice his tour guide education seven years ago and established his own company in 2004.
While he was working in the field he got the opportunity to attend several short courses about wildlife and guides ethics.
Charles worked together with CCTV (Central Chinese television) and CIR (Chinese International Radio )with whom he made a documentary about Tanzania wildlife.
He took part in a cross culture program that brought children from the United States to Tanzania.
